About a hundred minors live in a children's village in Beijing. Some hope to return home if their parents are released from prison, others will remain here until they turn 18. This shelter for prisoners' children was founded by Zhang Nainai. She is the manager, organizer, and substitute-mother all in one.
Everyday life here seems cheerful, but that is because the truth is kept secret. How do you explain to children that the state will execute one or both of their parents? The Chinese government ignores these children and their fate.
