In June 1972 a photograph sent shock waves around the world. It showed a naked nine-year-old girl running down a street in Vietnam, black smoke gathering ominously in the background.
Phan Thi Kim Phuc was fleeing the horrors of a napalm attack that destroyed her village and seared the skin from her body. Within days, her picture was in newspapers all over the globe and the haunting image came to symbolize the inhumanity of war. Filmed on location, “The Picture of the Napalm Girl” tells the story of the famous photograph and how it came about. This two-part documentary also reveals the background story and how that one moment changed the lives of everyone involved.
