In the early hours of May 1, 2011, an American trauma found its end in the Pakistani garrison town of Abbottabad. US special forces tracked down the world's most wanted man and killed him: the head of al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden. The killing ended a ten-year hunt for the man whose declaration of war on the world's greatest military power can be dated exactly to September 11, 2001, the day when New York and Washington came under attack. But even after the death of Bin Laden, the war on terror continues -- in Afghanistan, Iraq, and many other places.
The three-part documentary The 9/11 Trap - A Day That Shook the World by Stefan Aust and Detlev Konnerth shows how al Qaeda succeeded in luring the US and its allies -- including Germany -- into a war from which there's been no escape to this day.
