Millions of barrels of crude gushed into the Gulf of Mexico after the Deepwater Horizon Disaster, the biggest marine oil spill in history. Vast swaths of coastline were hit, or are still endangered. The clean-up operation runs into billions of dollars – if they succeed, at all.
