'I spent my whole life working,' says Ferdinand Mennecke, 'but my pension isn't enough because half of it goes on fixed costs.' And so the 84-year-old delivers papers six times a week. Ferdinand Mennecke is one of more than 760,000 people in Germany who’re still working past the age of sixty-five. Many older people struggle to live off their pension. This film accompanies three pensioners in their everyday lives. They have to work even though they spent years paying into a pension fund. The terrifying scenario of poverty in old age, it’s already a bitter reality for many people today.
