Fridolin Santer gives "his" mountains the once-over every morning. For thirty years the mountain guide has been watching the glaciers in the Austrian Ötztal valley. He knows how much the ice has been melting, even at an altitude of 3,000 metres. Pointing at a fifty-meter-high rock he says: "In the early eighties I went over that rock on my skis. It was completely covered in ice." This film clearly shows the changes the Alps have been undergoing, but it also points out that the interpretations don't always agree.
