While both Khaled and Rachid Taha are innovators in the raï genre and have performed together, they could not be more different in their personalities or musical approach. While Khaled's is the joyous stage presence, Taha's is the edgy, bluesy one. And while Khaled found France to be a haven from persecution (and in the film, visits Algeria for the first time in many years), Taha has been consumed with issues of the Arabic underclass. This film tells their story in their own words, and with their own music.
