Knor, 110 Kilos in 25 Weeks
This documentary gives a detailed picture of the life of the pig today, a life governed by the rule "as much growth as possible in as short a time as possible." An inhumane situation, many will say. But is it the consumers themselves who allow it to continue?
The film's main character, Knor, is born in a breeding farm in the north of Holland. After a few days, his tail is clipped and he is castrated. Together with his brothers and sisters, Knor spends the first ten weeks of his life there. Dramatic changes occur when he is moved to a pig farm in Anevelde, where he will spend the last 15 weeks of his life in the company of 1,600 other pigs. Up until the last day, Knor will be met by one surprise after the other, just like the viewers.
