Crisscrossing the world and recording albums, the family were a regular international festival fixture; affording them a lifestyle that most African musicians only dream of. After the sudden death of the patriarchs Dr Hukwe Zawose and Charles Zawose, the family was left divided and unable to support itself.
The film delves into the raw issues confronting this fundamentally tribal family who, despite falling into the sophisticated world of glossy albums and lucrative world tours, face the perils of daily survival in Africa.
