This episode of LIFE reports from the sweatshops of the Philippines, where women are exploited by contractors making big-name clothing and trainers for the Western market. Mass demonstrations in Seattle and elsewhere have put pressure on the world community to put an end this practice. But the sweatshops exploiting girls in the Philippines are legal - and some say they're even providing a service, by giving girls the chance to earn money and escape from the poverty of their villages. The film explores both sides. For more information on this episode, please visit the LIFE site.
