This program tells the story of Kamidi, an Indonesian living in rural Java who suffers from cretinism, and how his doctor dramatically improved his life by giving him an injection of iodine-infused oil. Some 200 billion people globally are at risk of iodine deficiency disorders, which can be easily treated through the use of iodized salt, at the trivial cost of five cents per person.
