This is a musical travelogue with your guide, Hanitra Rasoanaivo, lead singer of Tarika Madagascar’s most famous band.  She has been crisscrossing the island for years, finding music in towns and hard to find backwaters, and the camera crew came with her this time to document some of the amazing music on this huge island off the Eastern coast of Africa. 

From Church hymns that have been immersed in polyphonic folk traditions, to street musicians with handmade guitars, zithers and harps, the extraordinary musicality of these people comes through, along with some of the most ear-pleasing sounds to be found anywhere.
