In this Link TV Media Watch, author and former Columbia University professor Robert Fuller uses the Don Imus media firestorm as a hook to introduce the notion of rankism -- abuse of the power carried by rank. Rankism encompasses all the other trait-based "isms," like racism, sexism, homophobia, that involve the denigrating of another group. The cure for it is to create what Fuller calls a "dignitarian society," in which our predatory impulses are replaced by a more evolved mindset of mutual respect despite differences in rank.
