There was a time when the people of Sarajevo thought they would never see the city again from the hills. Above them, enemy snipers bombarded them for three winters and four summers: more than 1400 days under siege. In 1994 and 1995 the residents of one street in the Bosnian capital were featured in "Sarajevo-A Street Under Siege", an innovative production that delivered a two-minute report by satellite that was shown each night by the BBC and several European broadcasters. The filmmakers returned to Hadjuk Velkova Street five years later to catch up with the people whose struggle to survive had been chronicled in the earlier reports. "What did you See of Sarajevo?" asks questions about the role of television as an intermediary between the distant spectators of the war and the people at the scene. Directed and produced by Patrice Barrat. (Advisory: contains occasional scenes of graphic human carnage).
