Something we all share in common as humans is that we must occasionally face heartbreaking circumstances beyond our control. From aging parents to our own heath issues, sometimes the difficulties surrounding us can seem overwhelming. But with adversity comes the opportunity to come to a deeper understanding of ourselves and those we love. Looking around, we are surrounded by inspiring examples of people who have done just that. Sometimes we just need reminding.
This special program, To Live & Let Go, highlights some of these amazing stories. In Part Two of this special we will screen The Breast Cancer Diaries, the story of a 38 year-old news anchorwoman who chose to take the camera out of the studio and into her bedroom to intimately document her own battle with cancer. Jeanne Rizzo, Executive Director of the San Francisco-based Breast Cancer Fund will be in the studio to talk about environmental factors that cause 1 in 8 American women to suffer from this disease.

ABOUT THE FILM:
The Breast Cancer Diaries
For ten years Ann Murray covered the news – but for the biggest story of her life she turned the camera on herself. When Murray-Paige, a former local news reporter and anchor was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38, she decided to set up a diary camera in her bedroom. Ann’s video diaries, raw and true, offer an intimate chronicle of a young mother’s nine month journey with cancer. Never just a depressing medical portrait, Murray-Paige’s unfolding story is punctuated with humor and romance.
