Dr. Allan Levi was recently diagnosed with manic depression and his career and family life both became unstable. Filmed over a year with Allan, his wife Jackie, and their three children, Sunny Intervals and Showers is an intimate and surprisingly funny portrait of a marriage and a family in crisis. Endearing yet self-obsessed, Allan leaves his career in medical research to start a business selling model airplanes throughout England. But is Allan's increasingly frenetic lifestyle evidence of illness, eccentricity, or simply hard work? This observational documentary depicts family life with affection and humour.
