The film follows the Jordan family – Kathleen, Bill, Chris and his two siblings – for almost three years. Chris has multiple disabilities. His aging mother and father, both facing serious illness, are being called on to do something most families never have to consider. They must initiate the process of moving their son out by intentionally building him a long-term, stable network; a circle of support that will replace them when they die.
