In September 2005, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten printed 12 satirical cartoons of the prophet Mohammed, and soon after Denmark faced its worst international crisis since World War II. While the Middle East was on fire in reaction to the Mohammed drawings published in Jyllands-Posten, two prominent Danish Muslims became the center of the whole world’s attention. One was Imam Ahmed Akkari, spokesman for the Danish-based European Committee for Prophet Honouring, the umbrella group that represented the 27 Muslim organisations campaigning for a full apology from the newspaper. And the other was MP Naser Khader, founder of the Muslim Democratic Group.

The world witnessed the personal and ideological clashes between the two men as they came to represent opposite sides of the conflict. Through their personal stories, the film depicts the dramatic and hectic period when the Mohammed drawings put Denmark at the forefront of an incendiary, global debate on faith and democracy.
