In August 2008, YouthNoise's Play City held a Training Camp in Los Angeles to give young leaders the tools to address problems in their communities through sports. Just Like You was a resulting project, and it has since gone on to become its own nonprofit organization that promotes cultural understanding by teaching international games to elementary school students.

NIKE: Sport for Good

We believe sports have the power to do far more than just win titles and sell shoes. We know sports have the potential to energize individuals and revitalize communities around the world. YouthNoise, a division of Link Media, has teamed up with Nike Gamechangers to create Play City, a movement to use sports and play to catalyze social change. Play City is on its way to becoming the active online community of youth and nonprofit partners changing the world through sports. We believe every city is a Play City, and we won’t be satisfied until movers and shakers from around the world have joined our movement to build a global Play City.

Game Changers

In the last two years, Nike invested $100 million world wide in community- based sports initiatives. By 2011, the company expects to invest another $315 million. These investments will be used to give excluded youth around the world the chance to play because access to sport can enhance their lives. Gamechangers provides Nike products, resurfaces playing fields, and supports community-based programs.
