Communications Breakdown in the Persian Gulf

(January 17, 2008) While US news was busy tracking the Primaries, a video showing an Iranian seaman communicating with a US Navy warship in the Persian Gulf was shown worldwide, ameliorating a tense situation that could have led to war. Now, some Navy officers are advocating a protocol with Iran, which would help reduce communications problems that could lead to war by mistake. Because next time, we may not be so lucky.
