Pucarumi lies at the foot of the Ausangate glacier in the uplands of Peru. Here, herders rely on pastures fed by glacier melt to feed their animals and irrigate their crops, as well as for drinking. But the glacier is slowly turning black, the color of the rock below the ice and snow.
