Mexicans Prepare for Natural Disasters
In August 2007 Hurricane Dean devastated much of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, destroying infrastructure, the environment and people's livelihoods, much of which is still in disrepair to this day. To better prepare for future storms, with the help of the UN Development Program and the Mexican Government, communities now hold regular disaster preparedness meetings and discuss their plan of action in the event that another storm hits.
