Barack Obama Awarded Prestigious Nobel Peace Prize

(Al Jazeera English: October 9, 2009) Less than nine months into office, U.S. President Barack Obama was awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize, to a mixed reaction around the world. Now, Obama faces a tough decision on sending more troops to Afghanistan. Other stories include further tensions at Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, clashes between Palestinians and Israelis at the Qalandiya checkpoint, intense storms in Asia, and the normalization of relations between Armenians and Turks.
