War Crimes Trial for Radovan Karadzic Stalls

(Al Jazeera English: October 26, 2009) Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic was supposed to be defending himself today against charges of war crimes committed during the war in Bosnia in the 1990s; however, Karadzic refused to come to court, saying he did not have adequate time to prepare his case. Al Jazeera also covers the murder trial in Germany for Alex W., a Russian national who allegedly stabbed the Egyptian woman Marwa el-Sherbini as she testified against him in a horrific July 2009 incident in a German courtroom. Other news includes the aftermath of deadly attacks in Iraq, and an internal review in Israel following the Goldstone report.
