Gates: U.S. Military Commitment to Afghanistan "Not Open-Ended"

(Al Jazeera English: November 12, 2009) As Barack Obama continues deliberation over the American military's role in Afghanistan, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that American involvement was "not open-ended." Also, Saudi Arabia has established a military no-go area along its border with Yemen, Palestinian elections originally planned for January are now in doubt, and El Salvador receives food aid following devastating storms.
