Iraqi Elections in Doubt After Vice President's Veto

(Al Jazeera English: November 18, 2009) Preparations for Iraqi elections originally scheduled for January have been postponed after the election plan was vetoed by Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi. In Afghanistan, President Hamid Karzai will officially begin his second term in office after elections marred by accusations of voter fraud. Also, Nepal is bracing for a new round of Maoist-sponsored unrest.
