State of Emergency in the Philippines

(Al Jazeera English: November 24, 2009) The president of the Philippines has declared a state of emergency in the country's south, following killings that appear to have been politically motivated. In London, an inquiry is underway to investigate the British government's activity preceding the war in Iraq; Prime Minister Tony Blair is expected to appear before the inquiry. Health workers in Zimbabwe are reporting a high level of child abuse. In China, the government has launched a nationwide crack down on organized crime.
