Obstacles in Copenhagen; Corruption Confusion in Afghanistan

(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: December 17, 2009) Two days before Afghan President Hamid Karzai is due to name his new cabinet, a report accusing two high-ranking Afghan cabinet officials of corruption was deemed a "misunderstanding". In Copenhagen, the global climate change summit is drawing to a close, and many obstacles still stand in the way of an international agreement. Also, Sri Lanka is preparing for its elections in January, with its largest field of candidates ever, and in the Philippines, a volcano is forcing mass evacuations.
