Tension in Iran Continues; Catfish Conundrum in Vietnam

(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: December 29, 2009) Tension continues in Iran as President Ahmadinejad calls the opposition rallies a "nauseating masquerade." Pro-government supporters have also been on the march following the arrests of hundreds of opposition demonstrators. Meanwhile, a Yemen-based group calling themselves Al Qaeda is claiming responsibility for the failed bombing attack on Christmas Day. In the Gulf of Aden, Somali pirates have hijacked two more ships within hours of each other. In Nigeria, up to 38 have died in clashes between security forces and a religious sect. Finally, catfish farmers in Vietnam are fighting an upstream battle to continue work, hindered by trade disputes with the U.S. and a lumbering economy.
