Taliban Claims Responsibility for Attack in Afghanistan

(Al Jazeera English News Headlines: December 31, 2009) The Taliban claimed responsibility for an attack on a military base in Afghanistan that killed eight Americans who worked for the CIA. Also in Afghanistan, a Canadian journalist and Canadian soldiers were killed when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. Other headlines include a shooting in a Finnish shopping mall, and UN peacekeepers depart from the war-weary Democratic Republic of Congo.
