World Music: The Shin, "Chips on the Water"
(Georgia) Georgian polyphony has been proclaimed a national treasure, and the Shin takes that heritage and goes it several times better, using traditional instrumentation and dance with fusion style arrangements. The core of the Shin is Zaza Miminoshvili on guitar, Zurab J. Gagnidze on bass, and Mamuka Ghaghanidze doing the vocal improvs and playing percussion. The performance is from 2005 in Tbilisi, and David Skhirtladze delivers the footwork at the end.
