(Mali) Dubbed "the blind couple from Mali," Amadou and Mariam did indeed meet in a school for the blind (Amadou was already a professional, blues influenced guitarist before he met Mariam, having cut his teeth as a teenager with the popular les Ambassadeurs du Motel de Bamako). Since then, they have achieved a phenomenal amount of success for anyone, sighted or not. Success is due to a winning combination of simple, catchy songs with that fascinating hybrid known as Mali blues. The video is set to a propulsive groove, as it depicts the couple on tour.
