UN 21st Century - Sweden: Preparing for Action

Exploding landmines and other dangerous remnants of war kill and maim thousands every year. But clearing these deadly threats requires a variety of complex skills. We went to Sweden to take part in a training exercise that was almost as tense as the real thing.

In Afghanistan, hundreds of women are in prison, some for reasons that may surprise you. Many have no choice but to bring their children along. Is a prison any place to raise a child?

The inspiring story of one young man: 19-year-old David Were lives in Africa's largest slum where polluted water, disease and safety are daily concerns. He tells his story in his own words.
