World Music: Shankar Mahadevan, "O Sahiba"

(India) Shankar Mahadevan has had a fascinating career, and may be known to Western audiences for his work in "Remember Shakti" with John McLaughlin. Here's a lush production that showcases Indian classical singing, references Buddhism, is replete with panoramic scenes and scads of extras, truck convoys, and MTV-style dancers. It must be Bollywood!  Despite this setting, "O Sahiba" is a devotional song, and Shankar Mahadevan sings it fairly straight - albeit with electronic affects added to his voice.
