World Music: Odpoledni Smeña, "Pasáèek Ovcí"
(Czech Republic) If this song sounds familiar, it should. We have been showing an extremely different visual interpretation of it (it was written by the band Kvety) for several years. When we heard that the popular folk band Odpoledni Smeña was not only covering the song, but making a video, we had to get it. Whereas Kvety's video is a bizarre series of images (a draped figure in front of a table, a woman bound by her own bra, a cat that walks upside down, just to name a few), Odpoledni Smeña's version is a fairly literal reading of this song about a lovesick shepherd, that takes advantage of its humorous potential.
