(New Zealand) Far from being a clichéd mellow South Seas band, New Zealand's Te Vaka taps into the most exciting aspects of Polynesian music - percussion, dance and tight harmony. Their sound is never edgy, but it is definitely energetic, highly infectious and extraordinarily tight. This video was filmed at a rousing concert in Apia Park which drew 20,000 people. The song is from their 1999 CD "Ki Mua."
