Haiti's Earthquake Disaster
In the late afternoon of January 12th, 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit the small the Caribbean nation of Haiti, killing an estimated 300,000 people, and affecting one third of the country's entire population of (9 million). One day after the quake hit, aid and rescue workers started to arrive in the country's capital of Port au Prince, where the majority of the devastation occurred.
