World Music: Kartick and Gotam, "Tamil Bossa"
(India/Israel) We first encountered the duo of Kartick and Gotam when we licensed the award winning documentary "Laya Project" which celebrates the music and cultural traditions of six countries affected by the 2004 Asian Tsunami. The two musicians had already collaborated on this and the ensuing Nagore sessions. Although they are most noted for their live shows which include projected visuals and a range of musicians such as vocalists Mahesh Vinayakram (son of Indian fusion legend Vikku Vinayakram) and dancer Meera Seshadri, this video successfully combines all these elements into a rather campy, fun and unique (and we always use that word carefully!) musical and visual experience.
