(USA/Spain) After watching this video you may ask yourself, "who the hell ARE these guys??" It's a legitimate question because identities intentionally collide in this offbeat update of a 15th century Ladino song.

DeLeon is fronted by Daniel Saks who named the band referencing the 12th Century Kabalistic philosopher Moses Deleon and his great-grandfather Giorgio Deleon. The music of the band is an attempt by Saks to reconcile his Sephardic heritage, his paternal Italian lineage, and modern sensibilities. Says Saks of "La Serena: "I have taken some liberties with our interpretation, namely changing the melody and singing some parts in English rather than the original Ladino. The lyrics tell  a cryptic metaphorical tale which we've chosen to portray rather literally in the video." The video, directed by Ryan Foregger, integrates live action and animation, sex and sea creatures.
