World Music: H-Kayne, "Jil Jdid"
(Morocco) Hip hop has taken hold of Morocco in the last six years, and it is largely thanks to H-Kanye. The group of four have forged their style from listening to the likes of Biggie and Tupac while growing up in the central city of Meknes. They fuse western beats with some traditional Moroccan instruments and melodies, and lyrically speak out - often wittily - against corruption and for individual freedom. In this video directed by Khalid Douache, better know as DJ Key, hip hop takes over the ER in a whimsical song about internet addiction.
