Bloody Riots in Tunisia

(Al Jazeera English Headlines: January 14, 2011) In Tunisia, gunshots are still being fired despite a promise by the president not to shed any more blood. Anti-government protestors in the capital Tunis are rallying around the Ministry of the Interior, while overnight riots reportedly killed another eight people. In Jordan, unemployment and soaring food prices have led to widespread protests against the government. And looting has been reported in the areas of Brazil hit by mudslides that have killed at least 500 people.
