Middle East Unrest Spreads to Yemen
(Al Jazeera English Headlines: January 27, 2011) Anti-government protests are continuing across the Middle East. Thousands of people took to the streets of Yemeni capital Sanaa on Thursday to call for the resignation of President Saleh. And in Egypt there have been more clashes between anti-government demonstrators and the police, with protests spreading from Cairo to northern cities. In Somalia, the International Red Cross has reported a 20 percent rise in casualties with conflict-related injuries. And Nigeria's electoral commission has extended voter registration for another week ahead of elections in April.
