Protesters Control Cairo Streets
(Al Jazeera English Headlines: January 30, 2011) Thousands of protesters defied the curfew for a second night to demand President Mubarak steps down. More than 100 people have now died since protests began Tuesday. There are reports that more than 6,000 prisons escaped from a jail after rioting broke out. In many parts of Cairo the police appear to have withdrawn from the streets, although the army still controls the main routes.
