More Than a Million People Protest in Cairo
(Al Jazeera English Headlines: February 1, 2011) More than a million people have demonstrated on the streets of Cairo for an end to Hosni Mubarak's thirty year rule of egypt. Away from Cairo hundreds of thousands more have protested all over the country. Alexandria is Egypt's second largest city. Hospitals there are reported to be overloaded with people injured from clashes from police. The death toll from last week's violence in the city have passed 100. Meanwhile world leaders have been reacting to the demonstrations. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says his government hopes the protests are "Islamic and powerful."
