Moving the Mountain Discussion

A discussion between Moving the Mountain director Michael Apted, the film's producer Trudie Styler, and Executive Director of Amnesty International USA Larry Cox. The discussion took place in December of 2010 and focused on Nobel Peace Prize winner Lui Xiaobo, one of the Tiananmen Square protesters and a longtime political activist who is was prevented from receiving his prize freely and in person due to a 10-year prison sentence for co-authoring "Charter 08", which calls for political and legal reform in China. Moving the Mountain

Through stock footage, re-enactments, and interviews with witnesses, Moving the Mountain tells the story of the 1989 pro-democracy movement in China that culminated in a deadly government crackdown on protesters in Tiananmen Square.
