Deborah Acosta

Bio:
Deborah Acosta is a freelance multimedia producer, documentary filmmaker, and journalist. She is currently editing a feature-length political documentary that she shot and produced in Havana, Cuba. She has worked extensively with the Knight Center Foundation on numerous multimedia projects. Most recently she traveled to Hong Kong to work on a documentary and website that aims to humanize the United Nations Millenium Development Goals with stories from around the globe. Deborah has also traveled to Morocco to create videos about intellectually disabled athletes for the Special Olympics; the Dominican Republic to work on a documentary and website about Haitian migrant women; the Czech Republic to lead a team of 30 people to create a multimedia website about green energy initiatives; Colombia to create a video on the plight of displaced peoples; and throughout the United States on various assignments. Her photographs and articles have been featured in The Miami Herald and The Sun Sentinel. Her next project will send her to Mexico to help shoot and edit a political documentary.
