Maranatha Hay
Bio:
"A filmmaker with enormous potential." ~Trent O-Donnell, National
Geographic Adventure
For the past three years, Maranatha Hay has been a director for the
series Loma Linda 360, a documentary magazine show broadcasted on PBS
affiliates across Southern California. Her works combine her two
loves, science and storytelling,
and specialize in humanitarian aid. From profiles detailing top IUD
collectors, to pediatric heart surgery in third world countries, her
stories do their best to push the limit.
This past year, her projects were featured on PBS, Funny or Die, and
BBC Channel Four. In 2009 The National Academy of Television Sciences
announced her first nomination for an Emmy (Best On-Screen Talent.)
Dressed in a bite suit, the then 22-year-old college intern helped
security dogs train by allowing the K-9s to attack her while Lt. John
Marshall casually explained the details of police dog training. Ms.
Hay was nominated again the following year, and took home her first
gold statue. She has received numerous international awards for her
short documentaries.
