Film Description

In this mini-documentary, a goat restocking program supported by Oxfam America, an NGO based in Boston, and their Ethiopian partner GAYO. And explains how a centuries old local tradition of restocking livestock is being used today to empowered women of the Gutu Dobi village of southern Ethiopia. Shows how a donors gift of a goat can significantly help woman as the traditional head of household restock the goats they depend on to live. Goats reproduce quickly and make needed milk to nourish the pastoral society families. Run time 1:50
