Film Description
This film was made to document the work being done by Vidiyal, a small NGO that works in the tiny district of Theni in a Southern Indian state. It looks at the manner in which information and communication technologies (ICT) have been innovatively used by them to help in development work being carried out by them in the area. They have successfully used ICT to empower women's self-help groups with livlihood enhancing activities, and with the means to improve lives for the women and the communities they come from. It is truely exhilarating to see otherwise illiterate, rural women navigate through the maze of technology with nonchalance and ease. The film gives voice to the women and children whose lives have been touched by ICT and tries to capture a bit of the magic for posterity.
