What is Link TV's Mission?
Link TV uses media and the power of stories to engage, educate, and activate viewers to become involved in the world. Founded in 1999, Link TV provides a unique perspective on international news, current events, and diverse cultures, presenting issues not often covered in the US media. We connect American viewers with people at the heart of breaking events, organizations in the forefront of social change and the cultures of an increasingly global community.

Is Link TV a non-profit, and are donations tax-deductible?
Link TV is operated by KCETLink, the national independent public transmedia organization formed by the merger between KCET and Link Media. KCETLink is a Southern California-based, tax-exempt charitable organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to KCETLink and Link TV are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law (fair market value deduction for any goods or services received). KCETLink's Federal Tax ID# is 952211661.

Who funds Link TV?
We are funded by contributions from generous individuals and grants from foundations. Please note that Link TV is an independent, non-commercial entity. We receive no government funding, advertiser, or carrier revenue.

If Link TV is available for free on satellite via DISH and DIRECTV, why do you still need my donation?
Link TV is required to pay broadcasting fees to DISH and DIRECTV in order to be aired, and has to acquire programs from independent producers around the world, as well as spend funds to produce original series like Earth Focus. Your donation will enable Link TV to continue airing quality programs to millions of homes across the nation.

How can I receive more information about Link TV before deciding to donate?

How do I make a contribution?

What forms of payment do you accept for donations?
We accept cash, checks, money orders, Visa, Discover, Mastercard, American Express, Stocks, and Gifts-in-Kind. Checks and money orders can be made payable to Link TV. To donate by phone, please call 1-866-485-8848.

Do you rent, sell or trade my name, address, email, or contact information to other organizations?
Because we value our supporters' privacy, we do not sell, rent or trade any personal information. Read our company privacy policy.

Can I make an anonymous contribution?
We want to honor our donors' wishes, and some choose to remain anonymous. Please include your request in writing when making a donation by mail, or add this request to the Comments area when making a donation online.

Can I donate my vehicle for a tax deduction?
Donating your vehicle is a great way to support Link TV. We accept most vehicles, including cars, boats, motorhomes, planes, recreational vehicles and trucks, tractors, and other farm equipment. To arrange a pickup of your vehicle and to make this tax-deductible donation, please call 877-546-5884. Learn more about car donation on our Cars page.

How can I learn more about Planned Giving, Stock Gifts, Donor Advised Funds, and Family Foundation donations?
If you would like information about including Link TV in your estate planning, making a donation through your donor advised fund, making a family foundation donation, or making a gift of stock, please contact us at feedback@linktv.org. We appreciate your support and will respond to your inquiry promptly.

What is a sustaining supporter and how can I become one?
Our sustaining supporters provide monthly donations and help us plan for the future with gifts we can count on. We will charge your credit/debit card every month (minimum $5). To sign up as a sustaining supporter, please call 866-485-8848, or visit our Donate Page.

I made a contribution --- when will I receive my requested thank-you gift(s)?
We appreciate your generosity and support. If you have requested a thank-you gift(s), it will arrive within six weeks from when your donation payment is processed.

Can I substitute an item in my thank-you gift package for another item?
We are unable to accommodate this request as our pledge packages are specially prepared as our way of saying "thank you" for donations at various levels.

Can I donate through a monthly installment plan to receive a thank-you gift?
We currently don’t offer monthly installment plans. However, we do have a monthly sustaining supporter program. For more information, please contact our Donor Services Department at feedback@linktv.org.

Can you send the thank-you gift to a different person/address for me as a gift?
Unfortunately, due to limited staff resources, we are only able to send thank-you gifts to the actual donor.

I have made donations over the years and have never receive a thank-you gift. Why?
Thank-you gifts are offered on-air and online during our pledge drives; they are not offered through the mail or through our website outside of our pledge periods. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Donor Services Department at feedback@linktv.org.

 

PROGRAMS

How do I find more information about a program and when it will be repeated?
Learn more about any of Link TV's programs by visiting the program's description page from our Schedule Page or our Search bar at the top right of our website. If you do not remember the name of the program, you can search by keywords.

The program description page will show you the program's upcoming broadcast times and a brief description. You can click Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern (P, M, C, E) in the Upcoming Airdates box to reflect your time zone. If the program is not scheduled for broadcast during the current week, please come back to visit our online schedule and program pages regularly because we rebroadcast programs every few months.

Why am I unable to watch a video online from my current location? Does Link TV block certain countries?
Although we try to obtain worldwide online distribution for all of our programs, unfortunately, due to rights limitations, we can only stream some programs in certain countries, and for certain windows of times. For example, if we acquire a program that has not yet been released in a particular country, we may be required to block that country from viewing the program online. Since Link TV is a US channel, this problem only extends to the web --- but it is always our goal to reach our global audience via our website, whenever possible.

How can I submit a program or a story idea to Link TV?
We sincerely appreciate your interest. Unfortunately, Link TV does not accept unsolicited program submissions unless submitted through an entertainment agent or lawyer. You must also sign a submission release.

A viewer-supported 501c(3) organization, its content is distributed nationally via satellite on DIRECTV (ch. 375) and DISH Network (ch. 9410), in Southern and Central California via broadcast and cable, as well as through various digital delivery systems.
